| My bike has won dozens of trophies, but the two most special things ever were winning "Best of Show Full Dress" at the Harley Davidson Ride-in Show, at Daytona 1998 Bike Week, the other was being featured in Easy Riders "Best Bikes of 2000" With well over 96,000 hard ridden miles I don't bother to show her anymore. I did put it in the ride in show in Port Dover but that was mostly so I knew I could find it later that night. Honestly though I don't expect to win against new bikes but I don't see many that are any better, and mine is also signed by Willie G. Davidson so if you see me with the trunk on it ask and I'll show you his signature. I am a Member of the Iron Butt Association, and a Life Member of HOG "Harley Owners Group", and a member of the Buell Rider's aventure Group or BRAG. I have had a hard time making any meetings, so I haven't been very active in HOG or ABATE the last couple years.. You know how it is "if your a true rider", when the bikes running you ride the shit out of it and when it's down your working on it or going to meetings! |
| Port Dover ~ Ontario, Canada (2005) This really was an event to remember. This rally will always be one of my all time favorites. I didn't know ahead of time this was going to be the first HOG Pin Stop Ever in Canada, that was just Icing on the Cake. What I did know was this was going to be my first HOG / Motorcycle Rally outside of the USA. I don't scare easy but I won't say there wasn't a little apprehension about what I might be getting myself into. Everyone I encountered while in Canada was pretty cool about motorcycles and the whole Friday the 13th rally. InFact, a lot of people approached me to see if I was there for the rally and to talk about my bike and motorcycles in general. Even the Americans I met there wanted to know, How I heard about it, How long the ride was, etc., etc. I even got interviewed by two TV news stations, one from Canada and one from Florida. ( Probably because of how far I traveled to be there.) Unfortunately I had such a good time I couldn't remember the exact names of the shows so I didn't to tape them. The Florida show was a Biker Show out of Tampa, it runs weekly and was called something like "On the Road" .......The Host and co-host are huband and wife and were Great people, So If you know the show and happened to tape it PLEASE let me get a copy. Thanks! The police in Port Dover close the town to cars, unless you live there or are on a motorcycle you have to park out side town and take a bus in. They did have sobriety check points at each entrance to the town so it is best to stay in town if you can or at the very least save the heavy partying until you get back to where you are staying. I won't go into all the history of the rally for that check out thier websight,but If your looking for something different. Canada was fairly biker friendly, they do enforce Helmet laws and they may check you at the boarder, but this was my second time through there and both times have been trouble free and very interesting. I should be adding some of my own pictures of the Port Dover rally soon so check back. |

| Ontario HOG Rally (2006) Finally I was running well enough and long enough to attend a rally, I just got back from Canada. I wanted to do the Canadian National HOG rally in Nova Scotia and the Ontario Rally but settled for just doing the Ontario Rally, in Owen Sound. Ontario. Great place to visit, the weather was purfect, and as it seems with all my Canada adventures so far, the People were extemely nice and really made me feel extremely welcome. Highlights, 1200 Harleys in the Parade of Chapters and on my way home I stopped in Niagara Falls for a "Bike Night" at Arizona's Bar and Restaurant, where I didn't place in the show (this is a tough show, even Nueff only got a second place that night!) , but I did win a Tee Shirt for making "A Lot Of Noise" with my new 127 C.I. Ultima. Oh yeah, I can't forget this. I met an Artist by the name of Vince Goodeve, I would recommend him for any custom work. One of the nicest people I've ever met, Great artist and No Attitude. See the link under Services and Dealerships. On my way back home I stopped off in Skaneateles, NY for a couple days. Enjoyed some country riding and hit the Dinosaur Bar-B-Q "A Genuine Honky Tonk and Rib Joint" in Syracuse, NY for some "Low Smokin Blues" Check it out, best ribs anywhere and the atmosphere is just Kewl! |
| Update: July's Friday the 13th was the largest and best ever, 150,000 bikes turned out for a one day rally! If you weren't there your an idiot! |
