Fallen Brothers and Sisters
This Page is Dedicated to the Memory of the Friends, Aquaintances and some People I hadn't met yet, who shared my interests and aren't here to enjoy those simple pleasures anymore. May they Rest in Peace.
A Family man, Friend, Aquaintance > Bob Hanna was someone I knew but not well enough.  He was a Father and a  ranked rider in the Easy Riders Rodeo circuit.

Unfortunately, Bob's "accident", to the best of my knowledge, is still an unsolved Hit & Run.
Sept.7,2005 A father of two is senslessly killed. This was a tragic accident, made even more so by the fact that the victim was engaged to be married, and for this to happen just 17 days before his wedding is just wrong.
Brian Pippin but had a lot of people who cared about him, Beth, his fiance, family, friends and an extended family that thier marriage would bring.
I didn't know Brian personally but this tragedy hits close to home and my heart felt sympathy goes out to his family.
Murdered over a minor traffic incedent. Road Rage, Whatever, this should not have happened. RIP Joseph D. August
The woman who killed David Godshalk had attempted to run me down on I-495 earlier in the same week.  She crossed three lanes of traffic trying to hit me.  I thought at first she was just another idiot on a cell phone or something, but then she attempted at least twice more to run into me or run me into the guard rails.  I couldn't believe it, we had eye contact and she just blantanly came at me again and again.

I was going to work and didn't want to bother with her so I just dropped back aways and when I saw an opening I lane split thru the traffic and left her in my dust. I remembered her car and tags because I have a phobia of cars and license plates with 666 on them

What I didn't expect was later that week I would see a man I knew killed by the same woman in the same car.  I was sick.

I can't tell you how much I wish I had reported her the day she attempted to hit me, it may have saved his life.  The lesson here for everyone would be the same one I learned,"If someone is a hazard, turn them in. You never know who you may save".

The wirting in the newspaper didn't come up real clear on the scan..So here it is ...Edited for size..>...Godshalk , riding a Harley Davidson, rear ended a BMW that was attenpting to make a U-turn.  Police said he was traveling at a high rate of speed when he hit the car. The car's driver,  Jan
ice Frisbie 45, was not injured.
This fucking cunt should have spent the rest of her rich bitch life in jail but instead she, intentionally pulls out in-front of a motorcycle and kills a 32 year old man and gets away scott free.  Fuck that, I hope she burns in Hell.
What really happened > she saw a bike coming and pulled out into the right lane infornt of him ...He accelerates and moves into the left lane to go around her.  She see's him speed up so she waits until the last second and she pulls over in-front of him again. He tries to go back to the right but can't adjust because there isn't time and he dies because of this ignorant bitch.
The paper had to add he wasn't wearing a helmet, but he didn't die because he wasn't wearing a helmet he died from internal injuries.
Sadly, it rained so hard the day of the Joe August Memorial Run, You couldn't have gotten there without a boat.
The July issue of Cycle World featured an article "Skinny Dipping with Indian Larry" Pages 82 to 88.  It was a really good piece which covered his last days in detail.  I highly recommend reading it.

George lived to ride, he was one of those guys who I would run into wherever I went.
I play catch-up alot, when I see a bike or two ahead of me I have to catch-up just to see what they are riding. Sometimes it's someone I know and several times it was George.
The last time that happened would have been around the last weekend in October 2003.  I was on Route 10  heading home from a Motorcycle Show, because I was a judge I had ridden up alone, it was late and I really didn't expect to see anyone I knew, but there was a bike ahead of me crusiing through the twists and turns at a pretty good clip so just for the hell of it I decided to catch up with the other rider and say Hi.
Well, it wasn't easy, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it was George and I think George was surpised too.  When I pulled along side him he was doing about 60 in a looping right hander, of course I was in the opposite lane on the other side of the double yellows lines, and we are in a double switch back with a curve in the middle.   I think George was laughing at me because it was a precarious place to be and of all things I was probably one of the last people he expected to run into that day, and the fact that he didn't see me coming and I pulled up along side of him in a blind turn on a two lane road just made it more funny.
We talked as we rode,, sharing one or both lanes on these twisty back roads.  George had gone to the bike show late in the day, he had made a quick pass through before heading back home for dinner.
We talked about hitting the Deer Park for a beer before we split up but decided it was getting late and we both had thngs that needed to get done so at Rt. 896 I headed south and George stayed on Rt. 10.
I saw George around Nov. 9th turning the corner by my house in his truck, it was the first time I had seen him in a cage and I almost didn't recognize him. The next day there was an accident on I-495 S, George and I both used 495 S to go home,  I remember at first being a little pissed about the traffic jam this accident had caused and then, as is always the case,  remember thinking "I hope everyone is all right and that it wasn't any of my friends"
Now when I pass George on the road he's resting and I'm reminded of a man taken way too soon.
**What I was going to write here must have been wrong because George just took over my computer and made me reconsider.**  There's a strange vapor like chill in my office and George wants to say "Hi Everybody and let everyone know he's fine and misses riding with us"
